This instructor-led SMSTS online course is delivered online via Zoom. You can attend the course from anywhere.

CITB Exam

You will need to complete the full 5 days, case studies and exercises to the satisfaction of the course instructor. You will also need to sit a CITB exam at the end of the course to prove you are competent.

How to Refresh Your SMSTS Certificate

To refresh your SMSTS certificate we recommend that you book onto the 2-day SMSTS Refresher course no longer than 3 years after the initial training, however the refresher course can be taken up to 5 years after.

Legislation within the construction industry, along with the culture that underpins it, is changing from quarter to quarter, so attending regular refresher programmes is the only way to ensure that you are keeping up to date with the latest rules and regulations.

Prerequisites

The only way to guarantee that you as a site manager are equipped for your role is to ensure you attend every single training session that takes place.

Prior Studying

You can attend the Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course if you wish, however it is not an essential requirement.

How ling is the SMSTS certificate valid for?

The SMSTS certificate is officially valid for 5 years after the date of completion of the training course.

For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course. You can screenshot this or print it out to confirm completion of the training.

For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.

All you need to complete our e-learning courses is a computer, tablet or smartphone, an internet connection and Zoom.

To attend a remote online course delegates must have access to a computer, laptop, tablet or phone that uses a microphone and webcam.

Short online courses also help employers to demonstrate that they have fulfilled their legal duties to ensure their personnel have been adequately trained.

Once the courses have been completed, a confirmation of results can be saved or printed as evidence. This can then be kept on record as evidence of suitable training.
